My journal sometimes turns into my own personal self-help book:

We should stop weighing our worth on other people’s scales. I’ve noticed that whilst alone in my room getting ready for the day, I feel perfectly fine with myself. So much so that I’m ready to face the day and can approach whoever I want with confidence.

It is once I step out of the door that this mindset is crushed.

It is how everyone else sees us that we base our self-perceptions on. I think confident individuals are those who don’t forget how they feel about themselves when alone in front of the mirror, with no outside influence.

“Unattractive” people are just those who give up on themselves because they don’t think they can compete with the “beauty” around them.

But I think that if we were to shut out influences and see ourselves for who we are and set goals for the standards we create, we’d be much happier. It’s fine wanting to be better and tweaking our image towards our ideal selves. Our ideal selves, not ideal humans, because those don’t exist.

This is, naturally, easier said than done. But an effective way of thinking.

well hey hey hey there socrates lol my journal sounds like a five yearl old compared to yours lol
